Happy Thanksgiving to all! Even though most of you will be reading this after Thanksgiving Day, the sentiment remains. This week has been a great week off, and I am so thankful for everything that the Lord has done for me. I've been struggling alot lately with things of the spiritual nature, and I feel like I am finally being broken. I am so incredibly thankful for this. Of course, being broken doesn't really sound like a good thing, but I know that brokenness is the only thing that will make me realize that the Lord is the only person in this world I can completely rely on.
I finally feel clarity from the Lord to make a big decision that I've known now I needed to make for several months. My pride was only getting in the way. Now, though, I totally feel that I have confirmation from the Lord to make this decision. I've been holding myself back for a long time now for various reasons. I want to completely belong to the Lord. I want to be completely filled with the Holy Spirit. I know that to do this, I'm going to have to do a few things that I don't especially want to do, but I need to. More details will follow soon, I'm sure.
I'm going to leave you with a fitting song from Caedmon's Call, one of my favorites (as you know.)
Thankful
Caedmon's Call
You know I ran across an old box of letters
While I was baggin up some clothes for Goodwill
And you know I had to laugh that the same old struggles
That plagued me then are plaguing me still
I know the road is long from ground to glory
But a boy can hope he's getting some place
But you see, I'm running from the very clothes I'm wearing
And dressed like this I'm fit for the chase
Cause no, there is none righteous
Not one who understands
There is none who seek God
No not one, I said no not one
So I am thankful that I'm incapable
Of doing any good on my own
'Cause we're all stillborn and dead in our transgressions
We're shackled up to the sin we hold so dear
So what part can I play in the work of redemption
I can't refuse, I cannot add a thing
'Cause I am just like Lazarus and I can hear Your voice
I stand and rub my eyes and walk to You
Because I have no choice
I am thankful that I'm incapable
Of doing any good on my own
I'm so thankful that I'm incapable
Of doing any good on my own
It's by grace I have been saved
Through faith it's not my own
It is the gift of God and not by works
Lest anyone should boast
I am thankful that I'm incapable
Of doing any good on my own
I'm so thankful that I'm incapable
Of doing any good on my own

Being broken by the world is a bad thing - being broken by the Lord, though painful, is a wonderful blessing! I felt that way this summer with some things I was going through. And, it's always such a wonderful blessing when God gives you security and confirmation about a difficult decision. Often times the right decision is not easier decision to make!
Hey Girl! Just wanted to tell you that I am so excited for you! Yes, excited...brokeness is when the Lord does His most amazing work - take comfort in the fact that He will never break you to leave you there, only to build you back up into a greater more Christ like person! You will undoubtedly be blessed for your humility and for your renewed desire to seek the Lord in new and deeper ways. Cling to that desire and fire for Him as He is so faithful! He will meet you where you are and then walk with you into places of divine revelation and intimacy. Keep a heavenly perspective in knowing that you are where you are in preparation for tomorrow and for the great things He is creating in you. I love you girl and will be praying for His manifest presence in your life - bless you!
Oh, I loved your factoid list by the way! Good stuff!
