Fire Safety Week

The firefighters and EMTs from our neighborhood fire station came out to visit first grade today. They brought the fire engine, fire truck, and ambulance. I never knew the difference between a truck and an engine, but an engine has the water and a truck has the big ladder that raises up to get people out of buildings and cats out of trees. I was hoping they'd bring out that trampoline thing that you always see in the movies, but no such luck. The kids had a great time, and everytime the firemen asked them a question about anything, they answered with, "Stop, Drop and Roll!!"

Notice that my kids are the ones in short sleeves. Being the awesome teacher that I am, I forgot to have them get their jackets.
